Project background

Kuro are a team of award-winning animators. They work with creative agencies and directly with clients to create 3D animation and moving assets as part of the brand’s output. Trading for over 15 years, their brand had aged and no longer reflected the standard of work or the channels they were working in, so asked us to develop a new brand identity. We set out to create a confident, crisp identity that would form the basis of a new design language. This stripped-back look and feel would suit the grown-up Kuro and allow them room to grow their services for another 15 years. We created an understated, bespoke logotype and a distinctive brand mark to achieve this. The brand mark is a monogram, using Kuro’s K framed in a square created to represent a single frame. With the new identity agreed, we redesigned stationery and signage for the studio and designed and built a clean minimal website. The new site provides a perfect canvas to showcase the work of Kuro.
